I love that area of Philly. It still has the colonial architecture from before neoclassical construction in the 1800’s.

I’ve said it here before, but the Constitution Center, across the street from the President’s House, is extremely moving. And the workers there are young, liberal types, but I was delighted to see they still had reverence for the overarching story of our founding. And I’m sure if you asked them about the individual men, they would betray a twinge of resentment, but the good cannot help but shine through when they speak about the whole narrative.

"...men of such courage and intelligence and nobility — Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin, Madison, Hamilton, on and on — were all together at one time and in one place, made manifest another invisible reality: the hand of God, gathering his forces to actualize that freedom which is the prerequisite of love."

As part of our summer vacation, we took a trip to Monticello as our 14-year-old daughter is enamored with our Founding Fathers. We had already been to Mount Vernon on a trip a few years ago (she still talks about it). We warned her that we would hear more about the slaves than we did about Jefferson. Sadly, we were right. Thank God that she attends a Christian school that teaches and arms her with the truth. A fantastic trip to an incredible property, nonetheless. It is sad that some forget why people come to experience it.

Arguing liberty and free will is proof they exist. Liberty and free will are either blessing or curse, depending on how we live them.

Amen to that sir .

I’ll be spending the 4th of July in the USA . I may not be from or reside in these shores . The USA remains, by a country mile the best nation on the surface of this planet.

And this metric can be easily measured .

Just leave your boarders open and watch which way the human traffic travels and the risks they are prepared to take in that direction.
