If you linger in the right alleyways online, you’ll find plenty of speculation about alien life—whether it’s out there, whether it’s already here. If you’re truly UFO-pilled, you’ll be aware of the theories that extraterrestrials are actually demons.
What I find really interesting is how few people seem to think that aliens, if they exist, might be angels. We seem to have a hard time believing in a universe that wishes us well. This isn’t particularly trad.
Medieval daydreamers would have had no trouble picturing the skies as heavens, filled with planets populated by terrifyingly powerful but ultimately benevolent entities. Maybe the Middle Ages have something to offer the science fiction genre in this respect.
