When some guy at a party tells you some book is the best thing you’ll ever read, you probably nod politely and think “yeah, O.K. Maybe I’ll get around to it.”
But when C.S. Lewis, who wrote some of the actual best books you’ll ever read, refers to “almost the most beautiful book in the English language,” you think, “whoa, um, O.K. Which book, Clive?”
And when, in my case, your dad calls you on the ever-loving phone like it’s 1995 and tells you “for real though, this is the most beautiful book in English,” you may find yourself breaking down and saying fine, take my money already.
