Where to begin with C.S. Lewis? People often ask how best to start exploring his massive archives. The short answer is, you can’t go wrong. The rollicking fantasy stories, the bracing clarity of his non-fiction books, the sunlit luster of his sermons and speeches: every word is a balm to the heart.
Still, if I had to pick one book of his to start with and come back to over and over, one whose power never seems to fade, I know which one I’d choose. It shows Lewis’s wit, intellect, and charm at their finest.
