This was a great read about antisemitism. I know Andrew has been receiving attacks for well over a month now for the Candace fiasco but I feel like there is are important points to be made in what he’s been saying. I guess I’m naive, but ever since Oct. 7, I’ve been shocked to see how many Christians I look up to online (YouTube, X, etc.) show no love for the Jewish people. I’ve been having a hard time settling it in my mind.

Agreed! I have always wondered WHY people hated Jews. My mother always said they were still God's chosen people, which is why they were still blessed and so richly gifted with talent, and also that they were our older brothers and sisters in Faith. That completely made sense to me and still does.

But subsequent to Oct. 7, especially being from a generation steeped in the aftermath of Holocaust horror, I have been utterly disgusted at the responses I've seen. Though there is nothing new under the sun, one of the most stomach-churning tendencies is for the mob to continue to choose Barabbas over the true victim, again and again.

I like your Barabbas analogy. So true.

Something to remember. Just because someone is (insert group here) does not prevent them from being 1. A Jerk, 2. Dumber Than Dirt, 3. Both.

I have to admit I knew it was around, but the size has Surprised/Sadden me.

I have a friend (Good Brother In The Lord), Nice guy BUT he believes 1. The Earth Is Flat, 2. We Never went to the moon, 3. The Earth is 6000 Years old, 4. The Pope is the Anti-Christ, 5. 9-11 was a put up job by George Bush.

There is no talking to hm about this. Dumber Than Dirt.

I stopped watching Candace because her show seemed to be all about the Kardashians, so the anti-semitism thing came as somewhat of a surprise.

Steve, Your post has a bit of a Will Rogers’ ‘flair’ to it! As a former conservative teacher, I say “Well done!”. It is so ‘human’, just as HE was, and it echoes the Heart of the Divine.

God (you may have heard of him.) gives people certain gifts, talents, inclinations. Mine is being a wise ass. I call it the gift of Snark. Its not mentioned in The Bible, but I have it. I have tried to stop but its just not worth the effort!

I tell people SOMEONE has to be the skinny old wise ass, and Here I Am. :-)

This essay made me think of the amplifiers in "Spinal Tap" -- the ones that went up to 11 -- because it exceeds even Andrew's usual 10/10 essay. It really cuts to the heart of the matter, and he illustrates his argument with easy-to-follow explanations of history. It's so simple a pro-Hamas Columbia professor could understand it -- if any would bother to read it.

I’ve said this before, in a number of places. I see Jews as family, cousins, where our family branched 2000 years ago. I feel the same for Israel.

Those whom I don’t see as family are moslems. Yes, that’s how we spelled it until about the time that the Hanafi sect took over the B’nai B’rith Center and two other buildings in DC in 1977. I see Islam as complete strangers, probably descended from Cain, rather than Ishmael.

Everyone is free to criticize Christian’s and now Jews once again, but not Muslims. There is no Christophobia, no Judiaophobia or Semitophobia, but if you speak up against Islam, you are labeled Islamophobic.

And this all comes on the shoulders of our gallant “free press,” which is really just another captured segment of American society. Had we an actual free press, and watchdog of government, they would report facts, and let the people decide, instead of just the left-wing narrative. That narrative right now is allied with Islam against Jews and Christian’s. They are, however, holding a tiger by the tail. They took hold to meet their aims, and now they can’t let go, or the tiger will turn on them. But they can’t hold on forever and for all our sakes, they’d better let go soon.

"but if you speak up against Islam, you are labeled Islamophobic."

And then I laugh At Them. They invite abuse and it would be impolite not to offer it.

Islamophobia is base on the ridiculous sea that Muslims are are so fragile, they must be protected. I know a number of Muslims, and what ever else you may say about them (and I have) fragile ain't one of them.

I don’t care about the label, or wouldn’t have used the old spelling. If I wrote “Moslem” on YT, Google pulls the post automatically. Why? Because it’s offensive to moslems. I don’t care.

However, there are too many of Rush’s “low-information voters” who don’t understand what is happening. My wife, unfortunately, is one of them. I have to constantly inform her on what is happening. When Ken Cucinelli ran for VA Gov, the left ram all kinds of ads with him in B&W photos with a 5 o’clock shadow, with lie after lie about him. My wife believed them, and my daughter and I had to keep telling her what the truth was.

If we had an honest press, the low-information voter would understand the danger the West is in.

"However, there are too many of Rush’s “low-information voters” who don’t understand what is happening."

THAT is where We Come into the picture.

"When Ken Cucinelli ran for VA Gov, the left ram all kinds of ads with him in B&W photos with a 5 o’clock shadow,"

There is a story told that when Nixon and Kennedy debated, those that listened on the radio said Nixon won the debate, those that watched it on TV said Kennedy won.

Also thee is a reason why we see negative ad's in politics. They Work most people vote Against on candidate not For the other.

I know what you mean. I have to constantly tell my wife to not believe the political ads that do t just state facts. Even when they do, it’s best to research the “facts.” If I don’t tell her, she slides back into the low-info voter again. It takes vigilance. Since we don’t have a free and fair press, it is our DUTY to spread the truth, as best we can, regardless of which side tells the lie.

Chris Plante says this often: the most insidious power of the press is the power to ignore. And there is what makes the worst of a low-info voter. They just don’t know what’s happening, and that is where we must work the hardest.

I heard that too, about Nixon.

I agree with you, but I would point out that Cain's descendants died in the flood.

I have a theory about the Great Flood and that it may have occurred much longer ago than we think, and that more than just Noah’s family survived it. The events that ended the last ice age would have caused such a flood, but not enough to cover every mountain. The 400’ rise in sea level, the earthquakes, and tsunamis would have covered all but the highest mountain ranges. It’s a matter of what the ancients considered a “year.”

I’ve always felt Anti-Semitism on an individual level was actually the fury and indignation that the Anti-Semite experienced himself when told he was not god. That there would be a loving over-arching creative God that gave us rules on how to conduct our lives and would bring us fulfillment, deep satisfaction, and gratitude is infuriating to a person who thinks he should govern and make the rules for his life (at the very least) and for everyone else’s as well (in the case of Hitler). We seem to live in a culture of replete with narcissists, the least likely persons to reign themselves in and humble themselves before God. Those self-same persons that needed a “safe space” so nobody could hurt their wittle feewings are now unleashing their fury in actual violence against Jews. And anyone who thinks Christians aren’t next on the chopping block (as they were in Nazi Germany) is delusional.

I feel an urgency in this piece I have not felt before. My own Christian faith was bolstered from a young age by two Jewish families whose kindness, friendship and love I am forever thankful for. Having read this, I'm even now a bit more thankful.

Beautifully, and frighteningly, stated Drew. I sincerely hope that you are right about the tide turning. But, fallen creatures that we are, I too am hopeful that most of us have enough sense to ultimately see the futility of today’s self worshiping secularism. All we have to do is silence our egos for just long enough to hear the Holy Spirit whispering to our conscience.

I’ve seen more people converting to Catholicism than ever before. Maybe I’m just paying better attention than before, but for whatever the reason, I see it happening.

Conversely, the ones I see converting to Islam appear to be mostly criminals and bullies. Islam appeals to their prurient desires. I’m certain of it.

The evergreen is not pagan, as it is mentioned in Hosea 14:8 "... I am like a green fir tree." God is like an evergreen tree that stays green all year round. God is ever-loving and faithful to those who love Him. He will never leave you, nor deceive you. Hebrews 13:5

Thank you, Andrew. You really are on a mission from God. I am grateful for you. I am also grateful for my parents. My father joined the Army Air Corps and was trained in cryptography. In 1945 he was sent overseas to serve as a cryptographer for the Nuremberg trials. He was stationed about 25 miles from Nuremberg, had his own driver, and spoke of being afraid that he might talk in his sleep. There were two well known Jewish families in our town in eastern

Washington state. My father revered them both. My mother loved Jesus and the Jewish people. Had she not been a homemaker in the Yakima Valley, she would have been in Israel feeding the IDF with her apple pies. 😊

Andrew, I heard your latest podcast today during which you talked about this essay. I have decided that several generations of Americans need to be strapped into seats and made to watch episode 9 of ‘Band of Brothers’. I just finished watching it again. The unique portrayal of these young men coming upon the unimaginable never ceases to move me deeply. I have watched the entire series about three times. I am overwhelmed by so many scenes from this amazing story. And, find myself exceedingly grateful to Hanks and Spielberg for their tremendous work in bringing Steven Ambrose’s book to the screen.
