Amen. And don’t forget only the penitent are saved. Repent and believe inChrist, repent and keep the commandments, repent and behave yourself, repent and hearken to His Word, repent and be baptized and receive the Holy Ghost, repent of evil doings, repent and humble oneself, repent and come unto Christ to be saved, healed and converted, repent and have faith and become clean before God, repent and be faithful to the end. Whew! We have work to do!
Take heart, as we work out our salvation in fear and trembling, don't forget Christ said "It is finished." The "work" is done. and He who began a good work in you, will carry it out to completion. We can prep the soil of our hearts, but it is God who makes the seed of the Gospel grow.
Yes, Arden, as you have made abundantly clear, getting away from what is not right and what is not good in our thoughts, speech, and actions opens the door for God’s Love to come in and fill our lives.
But in my way of seeing things, we do not need to clean up everything that’s not right in our lives. We just need to be in the simple effort of repentance, living in a life of repentance, humbly recognizing our need to repent, and learning to do it on an ongoing basis, as a way of life. That kind of repentance, real repentance, can then become easy, light, and joyful.
As.He said in Matthew (28 - 30):
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
I always wonder if I'm doing something wrong when I steer around the paying of taxes the best I can. I'd like to think not helping to pay for abortion is a good thing. I'd rather give the money away to someone worthy, than some idiot in government.
“We are responsible for loving life as we are responsible for loving one another. For better or for worse, in sickness and health, for richer or for poorer, we are married to existence. There is only one way to fulfill our vows happily. Learn to find God everywhere. In the bread and wine, in the flesh and spirit, in victory and defeat.”
YES! I’m printing this paragraph out to stick to my mirror. Thank you!

Thank you for this! It puts into words so much of what I am grappling towards in this season!
Thank you again, Klavan
