"A 14-year-old with exhaustive knowledge of multivariate calculus is a prodigy. A 14-year-old who claims exhaustive knowledge of right and wrong is Greta Thunberg." Amazing. 100%
I hope so. I don't know how long my device will archive everything I save. Google removes what they will, when they will, with no opportunity for me say "Not that one!"
As a Catholic who went to Catholic school, I can tell you young boys just might be the cause of all that minutiae. Sundays were days of obligation. Feasts of the saints were holy days of obligation. Yeah, but what if you break your leg on the way to Mass? Or what if you’re stuck on a desert island (h/t George Carlin).
We found the priests and nuns giving little carve-outs for various situations, and not just for missing Mass. and the girls never came up with excuses the way the boys did.
I think you meant “book of statutes,” not statues.
Excellent application of ancient thought to modern problems. This is a good way to deal with someone who’s always parsing words to death and losing the intent of the meaning in the process (as in scales that “keep the Lord from being *manifest* to you. Purgatory II verse 122).
Long ago, maybe 2010, I read Villain by Shuichi Yoshida. It was really good and my descriptions will likely not do it justice. Almost shocking to me while reading was that the main female character was obsessed with a man who had killed someone and was the "villian". But when she discovered who he was she immediately changed and went back to a normal life. What a shock to me! In the States I felt she would have concocted some way to still love him, to excuse his evilness. My questions - 1) Are our cultures that different? 2) Was this the author's intention to shock or show a culture difference? 2) Would he write the story the same today? The ending today would still shock me but it was good then and now.
I would always reach for the reason that the golden mean is the verbalisation of the cosmic principle of Werner Heisenberg’s uncertainty principle. Which is the scientific reiteration of the idea .
And for all the goofing off your pops did with Aristotle up on the Areopagus with a bunch bearded wind bags with good ideas .
Is that the real thanks should really always to go to , as per usual , the bearded guy outside of time & space , or his name should at lest appear above the key grip on the credits roll, with the greatest respect to pops, is by comparison. But pops deserves at lest a bouquet of flowers 💐 .
Ahr yes this problem “2 men fighting “ seem to be the problem . The unnecessary contact of genitals seemed to be irrelevant . But probably Deemed necessary due to an inability to solve the real problem namely the current “relationship “ between the 2 gentleman.
Fighting or sometimes termed as “persecution “ occurs when a “relationship “ breaks down .
As it often does with Jesus in the Gospels . Not surprisingly neither authors of those documents needed to resort to gender genitals or the contact there of for the answers .
But rather a radical idea of a transcendent perfection personified in a holy trinity that which we should aspire for, even if we will always fall short . Known at the time as “the way” which later became known as Christianity.
Unfortunately humanity seems to be more preoccupied with the trinity of the genitalia , the holy meat & 2 veg .
I'm no liberal when it comes to the Bible, and I do in fact believe the Pentateuch traces back to Moses (it helps that Jesus said so), but I agree that many of the laws - especially the ones in Deuteronomy which are not in the same way emphasized to come from the mouth of God Himself - are probably the result of specific disputes that had to be handled.

Will you ever make a book out of these letters?

Thank you for this Spencer.

Thanks for saying.
Have a full and wonderful day Spencer
I found Greta's repetitive sneer, as if she had smelled a skunk fresh out a garlic convention, rather amusing.
She was mimicking the feeling of anger.
It's only on the left side too; if I didn't know better, I'd be worried she was passing a blood clot and having a stroke.

There is another Way 🙏

Very well said.
