Did I mention that I finished The Kingdom of Cain in 1 day (couldn’t put it down) and that it’s a masterpiece that should be read at all levels of education 🙏🏻 Looking forward to the next adventures in reading by the Klavans.

I’m a fifth of the way through Life and Fate by Vasilly Grossman. It will be a while before I even start it.

"Did I mention I have a new book out?"

I seem to vaguely recall you mentioning it.

If evil & good were colours then when you lay the colour of evil on the same colour back ground one sees no evil

Unfortunately the colour good suffers in the same way . It’s not until the Nietzschian , fraudian , colours appear that the contrast reveals understanding . And they start out a little campus chrysalis , emerge into a blue bottle who’s wing beats effect a Devine weather system on an entire planet.

Which suggests good & evil are an eco system of some kind on a necessary journey which leads to truth …… possibly?

Perhaps if we understood in the 1st place we could discard certain colours, but on Remembrance Day we need to remind ourselves of those colours, lest we forget them!

Regarding the idea that evil of the worst kind occurs with those who once knew and lived by the Lord‘s Word, but then turned away and rejected it, is treated of in the theological writings of Emanuel Swedenborg in a number of places. In the book, Divine Providence, #231, section 7, he describes a seventh “kind of profanation committed by those who first acknowledge Divine truths and live according to them, but afterwards depart from them and deny them. This is the worst kind of profanation because such persons mingle things holy and profane to such a degree that they cannot be separated; and yet these things must be separated in order that people may find their place either in heaven or in hell. As this cannot be effected, however, in the case of such persons, all that is human, both intellectual and voluntary, is rooted out and, as was said before, they come to be no longer men.”

I could have finished The Kingdom of Cain in one day, but I needed a break after Part One! Fabulous writing, as always.
