I have a group of friends who slowly went crazy with these theories. I think COVID lockdowns have a lot to answer for. It certainly disconnected me from reality for a while. I honestly believed the British people were made of sterner stuff and they just sleep walked into lockdown and wearing masks. It broke me for a while. I couldn't believe it. And when reality is too much for you to deal with, I guess we have to construct a new reality that fits what we're seeing. But sometimes, crazy stuff just happens and we have to understand why. As I pieced together what really happened I quickly disowned the conspiracy theories. Watching Ben Shapiro also helps. I know far more about American politics than those of my own country.

You know Ben Shapiro is a Jew and so is part of (Possibly A Leader) THE PLOT!

That would be the most obvious answer. If I were still crazy.

Per Klavan’s request, I will attempt a joke here: Imagine the look on Candace’s face when she finds out how many stars are on the American flag

I think maybe why the tides are turning in part because for a while, despite the corruption at the top, we were generally left alone to raise our families and make our way in the world.

But the corrupt cannot live and let live. And as they got more bold in demanding what they really wanted a lot of us were able to wake up and take courage in truth. I will not deny that I had to wrestle through some pride and resentment during the madness. Then I realized that that anger really is the devil's cocaine as andrew always says. The word is the anchor to discernment. Be in the word and you will not only have a quiet assurance, but the deceptions will become obvious.

Absolutely agree.

But it is the Daily Wire TEAM that helped me continue to sort through the maze.

When I could see the depth of prayer and contemplation in all the guys, I was assured of truth.

The first time I ever heard of Candace Owens I happened to see her live on stage. Her star was on the rise in conservative circles, and she and Dave Rubin were the warm up for Jordan Peterson on his 12 Rules For Life tour—at least the event I attended. I found her energy to be a real turn off—she struck me as trying to push applause buttons by saying inflammatory things. I was surprised and a bit confused she was attached to Peterson's tour. She seemed so artificial compared to him...slippery, manipulative.

But given the lawsuit she's just been slapped with, her days of successful grifting may, finally, be ending.

Amen. The ugliness and hatred perpetuated by some of these “influencers” is like a fog of arsenic over the culture.

Platforms are not good for most people, particularly average people.

Years ago when blogging became a big thing, a lot of moms jumped on. Some of them got big and branded themselves, but watching many of them, the question is at what cost? There are many I have observed whose families would be better off if they gave up their social media platforms, and even their own souls would probably be better off. In my opinion this falls under what Jesus said, “If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out.” Unfortunately, it seems that only a few have been able to heed that warning. Platforms, power, or perceived power, influence, etc.. very difficult to walk away from.

I remember you used to say, “Big men make big mistakes.” And that has stuck with me. Whoever stands in the spotlight can change history with a glance, a word choice, or a slip of the mind.

My Zeyda used to tell me a story about a man in the future who is escorted by police to a government building. The man is told that he has been identified as the most “average” citizen and is therefore in charge of making a particular political decision. In some sense that is the position of any world leader.

It is easy to think of ourselves more highly... and to believe our own hype! Wormwood knows that too well I guess. It is sad but can be very harmful in many cases.

In one of the “Harry Potter” films these influencers & assorted power loons were bogarts that emerged from a closed minded cabinet like a wardrobe to sling their unfounded conspiracy fear on the young students.

I believe the spell used to dispel any integrity & authenticity in the performances emerging form the cabinet was , “ridiculous” . I do hope the jokes pour forth with an overwhelming sense of hilarity that such flatulent performance’s richly deserve. (But don’t use a naked flame 🔥 & stand to close)
