1. Eat together around a table with beautiful music playing at least once a day.
2. Limit yourself to one newscast per day, not longer than 15 minutes, preferably from a source that is not aiming to make you fearful, scornful, hateful, and full of despair.
3. Make something beautiful: a garment, a painting, a song, a salad, a flower arrangement...
4. Play a table game.
5. Read a novel aloud with someone.
6. Begin and end the day by thanking God for the beautiful world and for the gift of life.
7. Make it your goal to show kindness to someone for no ulterior reason than to make their day. Even better if they don't know the kindness came from you, so they can't thank you...
8. Go for a walk or a bike ride. You might use the time to pray.
The good Lord said some kinds of demons cannot be driven out by anything but prayer AND fasting (Mark 9:29). Perhaps we could help some of our nutty friends and fellow citizens back to sanity if we who believe ask for the spigots of grace to be turned on so they could get hosed down a bit.
Slap yourself across the face repeatedly and say in the mirror “Stop voting democrat & dining out on baloney, by switching off MSM . That ought to do the trick , NEXT”

We could start by teaching American history again—real, actual American history. And throw in western and early western civilization, while we’re at it.
Kids today don’t know who Stanislav Petrov was. They don’t know who Charles Martel was, and by kids, I mean high school graduates. They think Arabs, who came from the Arabian peninsula, were the original occupants of the Holy Land. They don’t know a MOAB from a Moabite, or that Abram, before he was Abraham, came from Ur, before it was Iraqi territory, before it was Persian, or Sumerian. Maybe it was Akkadian? Whatever it was in the Bronze Age, it wasn’t Iraq, but they don’t know that either. They don’t know what the Hanging Gardens were, the Colossus of Rhodes, or any of the other ancient wonders. If you don’t know where you came from, how can you possibly know where you’re going?
Hard to convince others to not be insane if they will not even speak with you. We have one child who refuses to even receive birthday greetings from us because she feels “unsafe” in our presence due to our beliefs. How does one combat such “reckless hate”? We continue to make entreaties but are being rebuffed. We pray that maturity eventually comes. However, I firmly believe the adage “you’re only young once, but you can be immature your entire life”.
Conservatives must wrest the culture from the woke demons. We must get into the academic world as well, and stop retreating. Sooner or later, you run out of hills to not die on. Get rid of the Dept. of Education, and cut funding for any school who is adhering to woke philosophy. Hillsdale manages without federal funds, Harvard has a $53 billion dollar jump on them. Time to make that money work for them, not us.
How to reach those who refuse? I’m open to ideas here. We are storming the gates of heaven with prayers, and I firmly believe that this one will come around in time, but none of us knows the remainder of our time on this earth. I don’t think it has penetrated this one’s psyche yet. There will come a time when my wife or I will no longer be around to reconcile with. I’m patient, but not that patient.
You mean the spittle spewing, overweight, self righteous, self absorbed, professional protesters just might be suffering from delusions? If they weren’t so completely insufferable we might actually find their banality entertaining. I saw an interesting billboard recently driving from Wisconsin to Detroit. “Remember when we went to college to lose our virginity not our minds?” Yup.
Unfortunately, mental illness has never been addressed as a large scale wellness issue for society because there isn't any real money it like war, entertainment, drugs and sex.

9. Laugh at something truly funny.
10. Bake bread.
Yes:
1. Read the Bible, consider it, follow it.
2. Go to church as an outflowing of #1.
3. Hug your loved ones, look them in the eyes and tell them you love them.
4. Put the phone down.
5. Read a book written before the 20th century. (I’m reading Ruth by Elizabeth Gaskell right now.)
6. Go outside, listen to the birds and the wind rustle the leaves on the trees, and watch the little things in nature that you would otherwise ignore.
That would be a great start.

"Spigots of grace" wins the gold star image of the day award. God bless you and yours!

Touching grass, literally, take your shoes off and put your feet on the ground.

So true. I was never taught most of the things you mentioned
I do know about Abraham and the land of Ur. Thanks for sharing
I see what you did there. 😂
Yes, we can include Jan, but only if he’s agreeable to a vacation in Vienna. ☺️
If we hammer out a curriculum including Charles Martel, may we please include Jan Sobieski and his Winged Hussars?
Yes, move to a Midwest city. When I attend Catholic mass, there are many young couples with CHILDREN,
sometimes four or more. A husband and wife, lovingly touch one another, and care for their little ones TOGETHER! Totally warms my heart!
Riots are rare in my area. The police and sheriff can uphold the law.
Restaurants are frequently full. No one is starving!
I run alone and feel safe.
Working in Omaha, Nebraska as an RN for a very nice salary.

Fly over country really is underrated, but let's hope for our sakes it stays that way.
My book would definitely help!

It is good to laugh! Thank you!
"Conservatives are deeply compassionate and would never make jokes about the epidemic of mental illness among leftists."
I am?
